Metabolism, a word we didn’t completely understand for a long time.
We followed the common misconception that we were born with a bad metabolism and can’t get that ideal bod.. We were wrong!!

How we kick started our metabolism
We recognised that we need to nourish our bodies feeding it with adequate calories. It is important to take into account the level of activity we do on any given day. We noticed that under eating can cause damage to our metabolism and will most likely come back to bite us in the ass years down the track. To boost our metabolism we eat regular small meals (up to 6 per day). Upon waking we drink down lemon water with a teaspoons of spirulina. Ensuring we get adequate amounts of carbs, proteins & fat in our breakky, not only to keep us fuller for longer but also keeps mental focus on point.
Why we incorporate weight training
We notice that the more lean mass we have the faster our metabolism works (i.e we can eat more)! So start lifting ladies – Set goals to work towards. For those who haven’t lifted before getting assistance or a trainer would be worthwhile so your technique is on point, you don’t want to risk injury!
We try and ensure we get adequate rest and sleep, especially if we are hitting the gym hard! Letting your body rest and recover is essential, there’s a reason they call it ‘Beauty Sleep’.
For us, following a strict routine 24/7 is boring and unrealistic. Instead we choose to eat clean most of the time but do not even think twice about treating ourselves every now and again. As a general rule we eat well Monday to Friday and indulge (within reason) on the weekend. This keeps our metabolism guessing by speeding it up and avoids any plateau!
Overall we choose to adopt a balanced approach; Our body is a temple.. but can totally handle the occasional red wine a cronut!
